AAA-CPA PA/DE Valley Chapter Meeting The R&D Credit as a solution to offset increased tax liability in light of the New Amortizations of 174 Expenses
Class presented by: Ashley Chikes, Director of Operations at EPSA USA and Tax Attorney
Program Description Many companies do not think they are concerned by the new Amortizations of 174 expenses and some do not believe they are eligible for the R&D Credit. If the Amortization will raise their taxes for tax year 2022, the R&D Credit can help mitigate some of the impact. This session will discuss what are the R&D Credit and the 174 expenses, who qualifies for it, and key question to ask your clients and CPA to best prepare them for the next few years. Unlock the potential of the R&D Credit during this 60 min. webinar with experts from EPSA!
Learning Objectives • Identify 174 expenses vs. R&D qualified expenses • Detailing the four-part test for project qualification with examples in specific industries • Understanding all relevant buckets of R&D expenditures: wages, supplies, contractor, and cloud expenses • Offsetting payroll and/or income tax • Understand section 174 amortization and its impact on taxpayers
