Dan was born and raised in South Bend, Indiana. He earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Indiana University at Bloomington in 1980, attended Notre Dame Law School as a visiting student, and obtained his Juris Doctorate from DePaul University in Chicago in 1986.
Dan has served as an audit and tax accountant for Price Waterhouse, a tax accountant for Beatrice Foods; controller and national sales manager for J & B Products, a specialty plumbing manufacturer with approximately 5 million dollars in sales a year, and 60 employees both before and after his family sold the business to Bristol Corporation, a holding company with annual sales exceeding 150 million dollars, a staff attorney for Hahn, Walz, Knepp, and Dvorak, a law firm specializing in business law; and as administrator for Hand Surgery Centres of Texas and related entities, a group surgery/therapy practice, where he assisted in growing the group of companies from three to eleven business entities, including establishing other offices and founding a surgical instrument manufacturing company and obtaining FDA approval for its instruments, all in one year.
Dan formed his solo practice in 1993 and continues to practice law and accounting with his staff of attorneys and accountants assisting his clients with all kinds of legal, accounting, and management issues, related to the formation, purchase, growth, and sale of businesses, as well as related individual tax and accounting issues.
Dan’s accounting and law practice is located in The Woodlands, Texas, were he also resides with his wife Cheryl. In his free time, Dan enjoys scuba diving, tennis, yoga and Big Brothers, Big Sisters.
